Rechargeable Batteries

Today, there is no reason to buy regular batteries. The industry of rechargeable batteries has come far since its inception. Chargers are better and faster and rechargeable batteries come in nearly every size and shape. There are rechargeable alkaline batteries and rechargeable lithium batteries (lithium ion batteries), and all sizes of rechargeable batteries from rechargeable AA batteries to rechargeable camera batteries, AAA rechargeable batteries and nearly every other size and shape of battery on the market.  

True, some batteries are not yet rechargeable. Small, disk shaped rechargeable batteries for watches and other small electronics are just coming into the market. These rechargeable micro-batteries offer the same environmentally friendly, reusable batteries for nearly every type of device.  

Online discount sites offer rechargeable battery packs and chargers at a reasonable fee. Take care when you buy discounted rechargeable batteries. Some sites are run by foreign companies and do not offer warranty or service guarantees. When you buy these batteries you may find that they lose power quickly and that they do not recharge completely. We all want to get a good price on our purchases, but you should be sure you understand the quality and dependability of the products before you spend your money. If the site and the company are not reputable, you won’t get your money back on the purchase even if you complain about the product.

You can also buy rechargeable batteries in local dollar stores but again, you should be careful of these purchases. The batteries may be older and only partially charged or they may fail or leak. Try one pack and see how you fare if you are willing to risk the investment. Some dollar stores carry dependable products and others don’t. There is no way to tell in advance, other than to try the product yourself.  

When you buy a product that requires batteries, try to buy products that will accommodate rechargeable batteries. You will spend less money on batteries and preserve the environment in the bargain.
